Conversation with presence.
Spoken questions and contextual replies, paired with visible listening and speaking states. The first milestone is a reliable conversation loop on development hardware.
EDGETALK LABS / HARDWARE & AI STUDIO
Developing a new kind of everyday presence.
Expressive hardware. Thoughtful conversation. A character of its own.

A voice you can answer. An expression you can recognize. A device that makes its state clear. EdgeTalk is exploring how these details can turn an AI interaction into an approachable physical experience.
Spoken questions and contextual replies, paired with visible listening and speaking states. The first milestone is a reliable conversation loop on development hardware.
Original expressions and a consistent conversational style. Personality is a design goal that will be tested through actual use.
Future personalization would use only approved preferences, with review and deletion built into the experience.
The enclosure above is a concept study. The documented hardware foundation uses an ESP32-S3 board, I²S microphone, SPI display and speaker.
The product direction brings embedded interaction and cloud conversation together. Each layer has a clear responsibility and a defined path to validation.
Audio capture, display states, playback and connection recovery on ESP32-S3 hardware.
Historical hardware foundationA planned backend coordinates speech services, bounded context and Claude API requests. Credentials stay server-side.
Integration plannedExpression mapping, interruptions and predictable device responses, with supported events validated before execution.
Specification publishedThe development direction starts with actual hardware work. The journal connects that foundation to the next implementation milestone.

Soldering, module connections, firmware deployment and lessons from the bench.
The response contract, device states and evaluation plan for the next prototype.
An emerging studio at the intersection
of hardware, language and interaction.
EdgeTalk Labs is a founder-led hardware and AI project based in Taiwan. Its focus is an expressive desktop companion that can bring conversation into everyday surroundings.
The development foundation comes from 李冠志’s independent-study conversation-device work. The next phase is a Claude backend and a measured hardware demonstration, followed by interaction research with consenting adult users.
EdgeTalk Labs is a working studio name for an unincorporated project. FateVault.org is the owned web and email domain. Commercial demand and a business model remain to be validated.
